I just finished watching the first season of Damages and loved it. Although flawed in parts, it does a masterful job of beginning with the end, and taking us back through how the lead character Ellen Parsons, played by Rose Byrne ends up in jail for murder (Not a spoiler, it lays out the mystery in episode 1). Glenn Close is as always amazing, playing the icing boss of Hewes Law firm to perfection. The supporting cast is also stellar with impressive performances by Noah Bean, Zeljko Ivanek and even Ted Danson who although gives me the creeps, gives them to me through his character in this series, not him as a person.... Although Tate Donovan was fine as Tom, I have never found him to be an impressive actor, and felt the same way watching him here. I was amazed at the performace by Anastasia Griffith as well, who gave such a great, realistic performance I think it might get missed by many for its greatness. But of course my favorite was that of Peter Facinelli. Peter has an incredible look, and does a great job as Gregory. Check out this series on DVD if you can find it.
